LINDORES ABBEY : THE "SPIRITUAL" HOME OF SCOTTISH WHISKY

Yesterday Sancta Familia Media made a spiritual pilgrimage with a difference!

They visited Lindores Abbey Distillery built on the site of the ancient Lindores Abbey which was once home to the Tironensian community of monks and holds the distinction of being the first place on historical written record to have distilled Scottish Whisky. Sadly the Abbey was sacked in 1559 during the Reformation.

Thank you to all the staff for allowing us the opportunity to film and we are very grateful that so much of our nation's patrimony which was destroyed during the dark days of the Reformation is being preserved in a respectful and innovative way.
